About the event

Masterclass: Natural Wine

Origins, Practice, and Perspective

Natural wine has become one of the most talked-about movements in the modern wine world—celebrated by some, questioned by others, and often misunderstood. This masterclass offers a clear and thoughtful exploration of what natural wine is, where it comes from, and why it continues to shape the future of wine.

Led by wine writer and author Niels van Laatum, the session will explore the principles behind natural winemaking, from vineyard practices to decisions made in the cellar—or sometimes the deliberate absence of intervention. Together, we’ll examine the origins of natural wine, its historical context, and its growing influence across wine regions today.

Throughout the afternoon, you will taste eight carefully selected wines from different producers and regions, representing a wide spectrum of styles. These include unfiltered wines, orange wines, and pétillant naturel, each offering insight into the diversity and philosophy of natural winemaking.
