Prieto Pariente Viognier
This expressive 100% Viognier comes from a hidden gem of a vineyard discovered by Prieto Pariente in Spain’s Valladolid province.
The older vines bring freshness and minerality, giving the wine its rich aroma, full body, and smooth, lingering finish.Fermentation happens spontaneously, partly in stainless steel and partly in 300L French oak barrels. After that, the wine is aged for six months, resulting in a beautifully balanced white with both elegance and depth.
Prieto Pariente is a dynamic project by siblings Martina and Ignacio Prieto Pariente—part of the second generation of the renowned Prieto wine family. With a passion for sustainability and respect for tradition, they focus on reviving old vineyards scattered across Valladolid. Their mission? To craft expressive, terroir-driven wines that stay true to their roots.
The wines from Prieto Pariente are defined by their uniqueness, the distinctiveness of their territory, and careful selection. The winery proudly connects with regions like Castilla y León, Valladolid, the high plateau area known as Paramos in northern Spain, and the mineral-rich hills of Cebreros and Bierzo surrounding the area.
Prieto Pariente strives to produce wines that showcase unique personalities, marked by a refreshing and complex profile.
The “Páramos de Valladolid” series features two red blends: El Origen de Prieto Pariente and Prieto Pariente. The grapes for these wines are sourced from various carefully chosen vineyards across the province, ensuring each bottle is unique and elegant.
Additionally, Martina and Ignacio have discovered a small hidden vineyard featuring Viognier in the Paramos of Valladolid. The grapes from this vineyard are used to craft an aromatic wine with both volume and body.
