Under the Grapevine was born from a love of wine and a desire to share meaningful bottles with people who care about what they drink; not just how it looks on the label. We believe that the best wines tell a story: of place, of people, and of genuine craft. Our role is to seek out those wines, bring them together in one collection, and make them available to you; whether you’re discovering them at home, building out a cellar, or selecting bottles for your hospitality business.

Every bottle in our collection has been chosen for its character and quality. We work with independent growers and trusted importers who share our approach; prioritizing authenticity, clarity of expression, and a sense of place. Rather than chasing trends or labels, we focus on wines that stand on their own merit and reward curiosity. As an independent wine merchant, we also think about value: fair pricing, dependable supply, and a selection that feels both grounded and exciting.

Under the Grapevine is built around membership; a way for people who love wine to access the full breadth of our collection, enjoy free delivery within Amsterdam, receive €20 towards their first order, and attend tastings and events throughout the year. Membership makes our business sustainable and our community stronger; and it ensures that those who choose to be part of Under the Grapevine enjoy deeper access, better pricing, and a richer experience.
Wine Discovery & Events
Wine is meant to be shared. We host regular tastings, masterclasses, and seasonal events; relaxed, engaging occasions that offer a chance to taste, learn, and connect. All wines featured at our events are available to purchase on the evening, often with preferred pricing for attendees. This part of what we do is designed to bring people together and enrich your understanding of the wines we love.

Our shop in Amsterdam, Overtoom 424, Amsterdam Oud-West, is more than a point of sale. It’s a space to explore the selection, ask questions, and discover new wines at your own pace. Whether you’re stopping in for a bottle or joining us for an event, we aim for an atmosphere that’s calm, welcoming, and unpretentious.
