Baettig Los Parientes Traiguen Chardonnay
Chilean high-altitude 95/100 points Chardonnay from Traiguén’s volcanic plateau: pristine citrus and white-stone minerality framed by gentle oak, pure freshness and quiet elegance.
Founded by Francisco Baettig (with partner Carlos de Carlos), the Baettig project is rooted in Chile’s lesser-known southern region of Traiguén in the Malleco Valley. Their “Los Parientes” line is sourced from the Viñedo Los Suizos plateau — a plateau of granite-volcanic soils planted to small-yield Chardonnay vines. With low intervention, wild-yeast fermentation and careful oak aging in large French barrels, the result is a white wine that speaks of place, climate and elevation rather than winemaking artifice.
