La Delizia is a cooperative, or Cantina, uniting over 1,000 skilled growers across 1,700 hectares of vineyards in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Founded in 1931 by 70 local winegrowers in the town of Casarsa della Delizia, the name “Delizia” reflects the fertile land between the village and the Tagliamento River.
The winery steadily grew, modernized in the 1950s, and began exporting in the 1970s. The cooperative’s strength helped it survive economic crises and invest in new ventures, including sparkling wine production in 1981. Today, La Delizia is a major player in Italian wine, with a strong focus on quality-driven Prosecco production — now officially part of the DOC zone, ensuring both prestige and protection.
