A skin-contact white wine with a deep amber hue, Taoba Orange is crafted from Rkatsiteli grapes fermented using the ancient qvevri method—fermentation in buried clay amphorae—resulting in a wine with compelling texture, depth, and aromatic nuance.
Ilia Estate is a collaboration between Georgian winemaker Vano Shiukashvili and Swiss “flying winemaker” Thierry Fontannaz. Rooted in Kakheti’s millennia-old winemaking traditions, they work with indigenous grapes in the qvevri method, marrying heritage with selective use of modern techniques like stainless steel or oak aging to bring a fresh perspective to ancient methods.
